State Rep. Will Bruck today invited residents to meet with him during one of his upcoming town halls.

Bruck scheduled the town halls to offer an opportunity for residents to meet face-to-face with him to share their thoughts, questions, and concerns. The meetings are open to the public, and no appointment is necessary to attend.

Rep. Bruck will be available at the following times and locations:

  • 5:30 p.m. on Monday, Feb. 12, at Frenchtown Township Hall, 2744 Vivian Road, Monroe.
  • 7 p.m. on Tuesday, Feb. 13, at Bedford Township Hall, 8100 Jackman Road, Temperance.
  • 7 p.m. on Thursday, Feb. 15, at Monroe Charter Township Hall, 4925 E. Dunbar Road, Monroe.
  • 4 p.m. on Friday, Feb. 16, at Ida Township Hall, 3016 Lewis Ave., Ida.

Among other issues important to residents, Bruck plans to discuss Public Acts 233 and 234 of 2023, the new energy laws passed by the Legislature last year. The laws enact new “green” energy mandates and take away the authority of local municipalities regarding the siting of solar and wind projects. Passed on a strictly party-line vote, the new laws – which take effect Feb. 13 – will bypass local zoning laws and allow the unelected, bureaucratic Michigan Public Service Commission, appointed by the governor, to make those decisions.

Anyone who is unable to attend can share their thoughts or set up another meeting by calling (517) 373-7768 or emailing WilliamBruck@house.mi.gov.
