Rep. Martin honors Blue Star Mothers

State Rep. David Martin met with a group of Blue Star Mothers at the State Capitol on Tuesday, recognizing their dedication to supporting the nation’s service members and veterans. This year marks the first official Blue Star Mothers Day in Michigan, a state holiday established through legislation Martin helped sponsor.

To commemorate the occasion, Rep. Martin presented the group with a flag flown over the Capitol on Feb. 1. Founded in Flint in 1942, Blue Star Mothers of America remains dedicated to its mission by supporting deployed troops with care packages, aiding homeless veterans, and honoring those who give the ultimate sacrifice.
