As the nation observes the National Day of Prayer today, Rep. Luke Meerman, a devout Christian serving the people of Michigan’s 89th House District, underscored the power of prayer.

Meerman said prayer is a cornerstone of Christian faith and a fundamental aspect of personal spirituality in times of uncertainty and celebration.

“I’m grateful to have this National Day of Prayer to focus our hearts on God and our personal need for Him,” Meerman said. “Through that act of surrender, we can look to Him as the answer to the struggles of this generation in this great republic.

“As we face challenges in our modern society, the National Day of Prayer is a great reminder to take a sacred moment to come together, seek guidance, and lift up our nation, our leaders, and our fellow citizens in prayer.”

The representative personally participated in a rally celebrating the National Day of Prayer on the grounds of the state Capitol Building.

“As a Christian and a public servant, I am deeply committed to upholding the principles of faith, freedom, and unity that have defined our nation,” Meerman said. “I’m grateful for the opportunity to humbly join together with other believers at our state Capitol to seek God’s wisdom, guidance, and divine intervention for the challenges facing our state and nation.”
