Legislators invited first responders and members of the military from their communities to be their guests for the service. In addition to marking the anniversary of the Sept. 11, 2001 terrorist attacks on the United States, the annual ceremony honors Michigan’s first responders, public safety officers and military members and remembers the heroes who have died honorably in the line of duty in the past year.
Rep. Meerman voted against a partisan plan this week that would radically alter Michigan’s energy policy. He voiced strong concerns that the new mandates will burden Michigan families with electricity that is more expensive and less reliable.
